If you are a Facebook Fan, you may remember a while back that I was looking for some volunteers to help me with an idea for an engagement shoot that I had. Emily contacted me, and told me that her and Randall were dating (but not engaged), but they’d be glad to help anyway if it was ok with me. I said sure, and we began planning our session. I told her I wanted to do a picnic type theme and we planned outfits/colors/etc via email. On the day of our session when I met them both for the first time, I knew I liked them immediately! They were both fun and easy-going, and there was great chemistry between them which always makes for awesome pictures! We started with some casual outfits and then I sent them to change into their dressier look. Randall returned from changing quickly and without Emily, and told me that he wanted to actually propose to her and have me photograph it. WHAT?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!? I’m pretty sure that was my actual response 🙂 How awesome is that???? I mean really – who has pictures of their actual engagement? And it was perfect – they were there for “fake” engagement pictures anyway, so Randall and I decided I would tell him to go over by the tree and get down on his knee and then he would surprise Emily with a real engagement ring.
I’m pretty sure she was surprised! At one point she turned and looked at me and said “Does she know about this?” I think she thought I had just set it up as part of the shoot… Nope! It was real, and it was all Randall’s idea! What a great guy!
Emily thinks so too – she said YES!
What a great idea – I am so honored to have been able to capture this moment for them! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
And here are a few others from our session. I really had a hard time narrowing these down!
And finally, a personal favorite… I have been trying to use a new little technique I saw and I finally got it to work! Yay! And I LOVE how this image turned out!
Congratulations again to Emily and Randall! I am so happy for you both! And once you make your plans, if you need a wedding photographer you know who to call 😉
